Veselin Marinov has been the sole artist in Bulgaria (and possibly across the world) with two albums of his own with original Christmas songs : Christmas Dream (Koleden s’n) in 2003 and The Most expensive present in the world (Nai- sk’piiat podar’k Na sveta) (2010. The singer-songwriter performs concert tours featuring his Christmas songs each year in December throughout the major cities in Bulgaria.

The year was 1987 when his solo debut album “From love”, was released. Following the release of his second album (“About Love”from the year 1990), Veselin Marinov went to Germany due to financial difficulties and the very low sales on his album. He’s been in Germany for the past four decades and has put out two albums in Germany. Marinov came back to Bulgaria in 1994 as a result of an infection of the tooth. After his surgery, he began working with the top writers in Bulgaria, Toncho Rusev and Evtim Evtimov recording three of his best-known songs “You are the love” (bulg. “Ti si liubovta”), “Bitter wine” (bulg. “Gorchivo vino”) and “For you, Bulgaria” (bulg. “Za teb, B’lgariio”). The songs bring him huge popularity and makes an undisputed one of Bulgaria’s most loved and well-known names within Bulgarian rock music. His albums following”Bitter Wine” (1995) and “Bitter Wine” (1995) and “Wine and Love” (1999) are among the most popular albums music in Bulgaria from 1989. Veselin Marinov has released an album every year since 1998.

Veselin began his involvement in music in seventh grade. He began playing with and perform in school band. While serving in the military, Veselin Marinov came to the conclusion that music was his destiny, and applied to the National Academy of Music (Bulgaria). In 1981, right at the start in his study, he received an invitation to join the band as the lead vocalist of the Bulgarian rock group Impuls. His first appearance on stage was on the 2nd of December, 1982, in Vidin, Bulgaria. The band was known for their progressive rock music and their debut song featuring Marinov singing vocals is Midnight music. The first song created from Marinov himself was You Came. In 1983, he graduated from in the Pop Music Department of Bulgarian Music Academy in the class of Petar Dimitrov. He was a student in 1984. Veselin had two surgeries on his vocal cords. He also left Impuls.
