Veli-Matti Savinainen (born 5 January, 1986) is an Finnish pro-ice hockey player who is currently playing in the Finnish club Jokerit in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
After his one-season stint in China during the 2018-19 season Savinainen came back to Finland to play in the KHL by signing an agreement for two years with Jokerit the 4th of May April, 2019.
After another stint at HC Yugra following the 2017-18 season, scoring 17 points over fifty games Savinainen quit as a free-agent but decided to stay with the KHL and joined Chinese team Kunlun Red Star on a one-year deal on May 2nd, 2018.
