Vegard Valgermo Forren (born 16 February 1988) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays the position of center back at Eliteserien Club Molde FK. He has been awarded more than thirty times in Norway.

Forren was the first player to make his debut in Norway at the King’s Cup match against Thailand on January 18th, 2012. Forren also began playing against South Korea a few days after, but had to wait until the end of October for his first match in competition in the game against Switzerland and played for five consecutive games with Brede Hangeland, Norway’s center defensive team until he was kicked in the Norwegian team for the game with Albania on June 13, 2013, due to the lack the amount of time he played in Southampton.

On 18 January 2013, Forren signed for Premier League side Southampton on a three-and a half-year deal for an undisclosed fee. His first game was for the club’s under-21 side on 4 March against Liverpool, when he scored the opening goal for the Saints in the 30th minute with a volley. During his six months at the club, Forren did not make an appearance for the Southampton first team.

Forren re-signed for Molde FK on 27 July 2017. On 12 December 2017, Forren signed a new two-year contract with Molde. On 25 March 2019, Forren extended his contract to the end of the 2021 season.

Following the success of having won the Tippeligaen with Molde in 2011 Molde turned down 2 offers by Club Brugge in December 2011. Forren was then crowned the Norwegian league alongside Molde again in 2012. It was the third time on a row. VG and Aftenposten as well as the broadcaster TV2 were able to name Forren as the best player of the Tippeligaen.

Forren was first noticed by Molde FK, when they faced KIL/Hemne in the opening game of the Norwegian Football Cup. KIL/Hemne unexpectedly won the game 3-1 which saw Forren along with two other younger players proving impressive. After the match, they were invited to play for Molde in a junior competition. Then, shortly after, Forren signed a five-year contract with Molde. On the 26th of August, 2007 Forren took part in his Molde debut as a substitute in the 59th minute during the club’s 12-1 win against Mandalskameratene. Forren played seven league games during the 2007 season and also helped the team get promoted in the 2008 Tippeligaen. He was able to take the Tippeligaen by storm , and European clubs such as A.C. Milan, Newcastle, Liverpool and Hoffenheim, have all watched him play in Molde FK. However, Forren declared that he was looking to remain in Molde FK for quite a few months but his goal was to be a part of an even larger European league at some point. Forren said that he was young and had a long career ahead of him. He was also associated to Lazio as well as F.C. Copenhagen.

Forren was the first player to make his debut with Norway U21 during the game with Ukraine U21 on March 26 2008. He played 14 matches for Norway’s under-21 team. He scored three goals. He later named a captain in the under-23 side.

Rumoured to make a return move back to Molde, Forren insisted he wanted to stay at Southampton to fight for his place. However, on 11 July 2013, Forren left Southampton to return to Molde for an undisclosed fee. Molde won the 2013 Norwegian Cup after rivals Rosenborg was defeated 4–2 in the final. Forren assisted Jo Inge Berget on Molde’s 2–2 equalizing goal in the game. Forren left the club on 1 January 2017, when his contract expired.
