Trevor Henry Worthy (born 3 January 1957) is a paleozoologist from Australia and paleozoologist from New Zealand known for his research into moa and other vertebrates that have gone extinct.

Worthy was raised within Broadwood, Northland and went to Whangarei Boys High School. He started his professional career as a self-taught palaeontologist. In 1998, Worthy found subfossil remains in Fiji and found remains of the flying Viti Levu giant pigeon (Natunaornis gigoura) and The Viti Levu scrubfowl (Megapodius amissus) and The Viti Levu snipe (Coenocorypha miratropica) as well as the massive Fiji ground frog (Platymantis megabotoniviti) as well as the smaller freshwater crocodile Volia athollandersoni. The Holotypes of these species were stored in the New Zealand Museum Te Papa Tongarewa.
