Tommy Cross (born September 12 1989) is an American professional defensive ice hockey player. He currently plays under contract with the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Cross was chosen to his team the Boston Bruins in the second round (35th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Cross was named his Providence Bruins captain to begin the 2015-16 season. He played in the first two games of the season for Providence before receiving the first NHL call-up by Boston on the 14th of October 2015. He was able to make his much-anticipated NHL debut in the Bruins together with teammates Tyler Randell and Tyler Randell in a 6-2 victory against Colorado Avalanche Colorado Avalanche on October 15 in 2015. He would later score his debut point with an assist in his second game of his career in the game against Arizona Coyotes Arizona Coyotes on October 17 the 17th of October, 2015.

After six seasons within the Bruins organization, Cross left as a free agent to sign a one-year, two-way contract for $650k with $450k guaranteed with the Columbus Blue Jackets on July 1, 2018. In the 2018–19 season, Cross appeared in 73 regular season games with the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL, affiliate to the Blue Jackets, producing 34 points.

Cross left the Blue Jackets at the conclusion of his contract to sign a two- year, two-way contract as a free agent with the Florida Panthers on July 1, 2019.

Two seasons later, with the P-Bruins and having secured an enviable spot in the Blueline Cross received a year-long contract extension with the Bruins on the 18th of July 2014. In the 2014-15 season during the third season of his career with the AHL, Cross established career record offensive records with four goal and 17 assists, for 22 points across 54 games.

Cross was playing in high school hockey when he first was chosen by the junior major team Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, 252nd overall in the 2006 Entry Draft. Although he had no plans to follow a major junior career within Canada, Cross continued his growth through the prep phase and played with players from the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets of the United States Hockey League to close in the season 2007/08. He decided to pursue playing collegiately with Boston College of the Hockey East.
