Tom Sheahan (born 5 September 1968) is an Irish Fine Gael politician. Tom was appointed as a member of Seanad Eireann on April of 2011. He was an ex- Teachta Dala (TD) for the Kerry South constituency from 2007 until 2011. His 30th Dail seat was re-elected in the general election of 2007. He was elected to the Kerry County Council for the Killarney region at the local elections in 2004.

The year 2014 was the time that Sheahan was a vocal critic of “anti-Traveller” remarks that sparked dispute within County Kerry. Sheahan later denied that he misinterpreted the meaning of his statement and clarified his position in relation to Irish Travellers as well as Roma communities.

On September 12, 2012 Sheahan made comments within his Seanad that spoke to the tragic death of an individual from Garda and claimed that a Sinn Fein member had allegedly stated that “they would have done a much cleaner job”. His comments were criticized by members of the Garda Representatives Association and also by Kerry the TD Martin Ferris, who challenged Sheahan to identify the person responsible.
