Tobias Lindberg (born 22 July 1995) is an Swedish professional hockey star, who is an unrestricted free-agent. He has recently played with The Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League (AHL) as well as contracted with the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Lindberg was a player in the team of Memorial Cup champion Oshawa Generals.
The next season was completely with the Marlies in which the forward scored 16 points over 44 games. In the beginning of the 2017-18 season on October 6, 2017, Lindberg was traded to the expansion Vegas Golden Knights, alongside an option for the sixth round of the draft in 2018 in exchange for goalie Calvin Pickard. Lindberg received a contract with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
On 23 February 2018, Lindberg was traded from the Golden Knights to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Ryan Reaves. He was loaned by the Penguins to continue playing with the Wolves until the AHL season concluded.
On June 25, 2019, Lindberg was not tendered a qualifying offer by the Golden Knights, allowing him to become a free agent.
Lindberg was among 12 Toronto rookies who made their NHL debut in the last third of the season an integral part of the Maple Leafs youth movement. Lindberg was selected to the Marlies on the 31st of March, 2016 and made his debut that following night in a 4-1 defeat against Buffalo Sabres. Buffalo Sabres, picking up an assist on the one Toronto goal scored by Brooks Laich, a teammate.

Lindberg was selected in the fourth pick, 102nd overall, by the Ottawa Senators in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He was a junior player in his home town of Sweden playing for Djurgardens IF, before moving to North America to continue his career with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League. Lindberg was a part of the team that took home this year’s Memorial Cup, assisting on the game-winning goal that was which was scored by his teammate Anthony Cirelli.
At the age of 20 years old, Lindberg was no longer eligible to play junior any more so he signing his professional debut contract at Ottawa on June 16, 2015, which was a three-year entry-level contract. Lindberg was a part of the first part of 2015-16’s AHL season for Ottawa’s affiliateteam, known as the Binghamton Senators. After scoring 22 points over 34 games for Binghamton, Lindberg was included in a massive nine-player deal that included himself, Jared Cowen, Colin Greening, Milan Michalek, an 2017 second-round draft pick transfer into Toronto. Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Dion Phaneuf, Matt Frattin, Casey Bailey, Ryan Rupert and Cody Donaghey. Lindberg’s AHL numbers prior to the trade were thought to be impressive given his status as a rookie and the Senators being in the lowest in the league (being third-last when he made the departure). Lindberg was a part of with the Toronto Marlies, who were in the top spot in the AHL (leading the team that finished second in points by 16 at the date when the deal was made) and were the favourites to take home in the 2016 Calder Cup.
In the following 2018–19 season, Lindberg was assigned and reported to the Penguins’ AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He contributed with 6 points in 15 games with Wilkes-Barre before on 5 December 2018, Lindberg and Stefan Elliott were traded to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Ben Sexton and Macoy Erkamps. Both players were immediately assigned to the Senators’ AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators. Lindberg struggled to make an impact with Belleville, producing 6 points through 29 games.
