Reddish is born in Nottingham in the year 1957. He was a leisure centre director at Nottingham City Council and a sports development officer. In 1988 at the age 31, he was diagnosed the retinitis pigmentosa disease, which is a genetic degenerative condition that affected his vision. In 1996, he had lost all vision, however, in 2013 it was time to undergo surgery, in which an artificial retina was implanted inside his eye. This allowed him to recover some sight.

In 2001, Reddish was awarded an MBE for his contributions to swimming. In 2005, he received the title of Freeman from the City of Nottingham. He was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2008 New Year Honours and Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to sports. appointed as the rank of Deputy Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire (DL) 2019.

In 1998, Reddish was appointed in 1998 as the National Coordinator of British Swimming and in 2003 Reddish was appointed the National Performer Director of the Disability Swim Team. After the great success that the British team in Beijing Reddish resigned his position as Performance Director and became the Chairman of the British Paralympic Association. Tim was also an active board member of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). Tim serves as a current Governing Body Member from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC)

Timothy Robert Reddish, (born 12 April 1957) is an English sports administrator and former Paralympic swimmer who served as the chairman of the British Paralympic Association. The governing Board member of the International Paralympic Committee. He was awarded five medals during three Paralympic Games.

Reddish was an avid swimmer in his youth but when his vision declined, he made the decision to be classed as a disabled swimmer. At first, he was classified as a B2 athlete who had impaired vision, he enrolled in his first international competition which was at the European Championships in Switzerland, in 1989. He won 11 medals, among them two gold. Reddish first took part in Great Britain at a Summer Paralympics in Barcelona during 1992. In Spain Reddish was awarded two medals, including a silver medal in the 100m butterfly B1B2 and bronze medal in 100m freestyle. The following year, he participated in the 1996 Summer Paralympics in Atlanta. Competing in five events and swimming now as a B1 swimmer (completely blind) The athlete achieved the same results as his time in Barcelona with another bronze and silver medals with this time, for the 200m medley as well as the freestyle race of 100m. The last Paralympics for competition took place at in the 2000 Games in Sydney. In Sydney, he won his fifth and last medal, getting silver medals in the Men’s 4x 100 m Medley race for S11-13 category swimmers.
