Timothy Gerard Mayza (born January 15th in 1992) was an American professional baseball player in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He has been a part of Major League Baseball (MLB) for Toronto.
Mayza pitched all of the 2015 season for the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts. He appeared in 26 games for the Lugnuts and recorded 3-1 record, 3.07 ERA, and 62 strikeouts over the 55/3 innings he pitched. Mayza continued to advance through his position in the Blue Jays organization, beginning the 2016 season with the Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays. He was promoted to the Blue Jays in June. received an increase to Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, which is where he ended the season. Mayza achieved a record-breaking 42 appearances on the pitching bench in 2016, and went 3-3 with an 2.25 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 64 innings. On the 19th of January in 2017, Mayza got invited for Major League spring training. Mayza was put in the Double-A New Hampshire to begin the 2017 season. After 29 appearances Mayza was promoted to Triple-A Buffalo Bisons. He appeared in 11 relief games with an 0.93 ERA, before his first move up to the Majors.
On September 13, 2019, in the 10th inning in a game against the Yankees, Mayza threw the ball behind Didi Gregorius and immediately crumpled to the ground in pain. The next day, it was revealed he had torn his UCL and would undergo Tommy John surgery. Mayza was outrighted off the Blue Jays roster on November 20, 2019.
On August 14 in 2017, Mayza was invited to the Blue Jays. He made his debut in the major leagues on August 15 when he pitched an inning that was scoreless in a loss of 6-4 against the Tampa Bay Rays and recording his first major league strikeout against Peter Bourjos. Mayza was awarded the first win in major leagues on the 12th of September in the final inning of the 9th inning prior to that the Blue Jays walked off the Baltimore Orioles 3-2.

Mayza was selected to the Toronto Blue Jays in the 12th round of 2013’s Major League Baseball draft. He was given an award of $100,000 as a signing bonus. He got assigned to the Rookie level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays to start an official career. After three games in the Gulf Coast League, Mayza was elevated to Rookie Advanced Bluefield Blue Jays of the Appalachian League. In the final season of his high school career, Mayza pitched to a 5-3 record of wins and losses, 2.73 earned run average (ERA) and 53 strikeouts over 51 innings pitched. He has signed a contract to take a course at Millersville University of Pennsylvania in November 2009. The year 2012 was the last time he was a part of an collegiate summer game with the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In his final season with Millersville, Mayza posted an 11-3 record, 1.55 ERA, and 90 strikeouts in an innings of 98/3.
Mayza split the 2018 season between the major leagues and the Buffalo Bisons. In 37 games for the Blue Jays, he posted a 2–0 record with a 3.28 ERA and 40 strikeouts over 35⁄3 innings.
