Tim Laudner is one of the most popular and richest Baseball Player who was born on June 7, 1958 in Mason City, Iowa, United States. Timothy Jon Laudner (born June 7 1958) is an American former professional baseball catcher who was a part of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins from 1981 to 1989.
From 2008 onwards, Laudner has been an analyst on baseball for Fox Sports North and Fox Sports Wisconsin. His responsibilities consist of providing commentary in color on occasionally Twins broadcasts.
Laudner was a key component of the Twins of 1987’s World Series success, hitting the home run and adding two more runs when he hit another during their Game 2 victory. It was an undercover weapon throughout the entire season when Laudner batted just .191 with just 55 hits, and 16 of his hits came from home runs. In 1988, he enjoyed remarkable results in almost every statistic, including bats and games played. Laudner was also included on the American League All-Star team in 1988, which was his only appearance. He concluded his final season in majors as a replacement for Brian Harper, filling a job of utility and gaining at bats at first base as well as catcher, DH and first base. In the end, he was not able to make an appearance on the squad in 1991, Laudner received a call-up for an organization called the AAA Portland Beavers, but after nine games, during which he failed to hit over 29 bats and decided to take a break.

After playing baseball at Park Center Senior High School in Brooklyn Park, MN, Laudner was picked in 1976 by Cincinnati Reds in the 33rd round, but he did not take the plunge. Following four seasons studying at the University of Missouri, he was selected to the Twins in the 3rd selection of the 1979 draft. The Twins were assigned directly to the AAA Orlando Twins, Laudner held his own during his first season with the Minnesota organization, batting .241 during 45 contests. In the following season the team split its times in Orlando with Single-A Visalia and, despite having a .227 batsman’s average, the player hit 12 home runs. At Orlando during the year 1981, Laudner scored 40 home runs, while batting .284 and earned the league MVP award and a call-up in August with the Twins where he hit two more home runs over 14 games. Even though he played 20 games in 1982 with AAA Toledo, Laudner was summoned to the Twins for a permanent contract.
Laudner never managed to replicate his 1981 campaign in the major leagues. He continued to bat with power hitting over 10 home runs 4 times during his entire career, having a batting average of just 255. Laudner’s average batting of just .225 was among the reasons that prevented him from becoming the designated catcher. So, he had to be able to share the catching duties with a constantly changing roster of part-time players and replacements who could be in the future, including: Butch Wynegar, Sal Butera, Ray Smith, Dave Engle, Jeff Reed, Mark Salas, Tom Nieto, Brian Harper, Dwight Lowery, Lenny Webster, Greg Olson, and Orlando Mercado.
