Odagme was born in the Baen community, which is located in the Khana the local administration area in Rivers State. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Army Children School from 1979 until 1985, and Birabi Memorial Grammar from the year 1985 until 1991. After receiving their First School Leaving Certificate and Senior School Certificate He then went to University of Port Harcourt. University of Port Harcourt, where he received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree in 1999. He worked as an officer in the house in the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital from 2000 until 2001, before he was enrolled in the one-year obligatory National Youth Service in 2002. He then obtained a degree of Anaesthesia at the West African College of Surgeons in 2005.
Odagme completed his residency on Anaesthesia as well as Intensive care from the year 2003 until the year 2010. He was a part-time resident within the Department of Anaesthesia, Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital from 2011 to 2012.
