Taras Chornovil is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on June 1, 1964 in Lviv, Ukraine. Taras Chornovil was born July 1, 1964, in Lviv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union (now Ukraine) and was married to Vyacheslav Chornovil, who was a former Soviet politician, dissident and the founder of the People’s Movement of Ukraine, and his wife, Olena Antoniv.

In October 2008, Chornovil was exiled from his position in the Party of Regions. In June 2009, Chornovil was exiled from the organization in the Party of Regions faction by an act of the council on politics that is part of the Party of Regions.

In the 2012 parliamentary elections Chornovil was a candidate in single-member district number 212 (first-past-the-post wins a parliament seat) located in Kiev; he became sixth in this district with 6.47% of the votes thus failed to win parliamentary representation.

Chornovil joined Reforms for the Future in February 2011. On February 9, 2012, Chornovil left that faction.

Between 1990 and 1994, Taras was a deputy of the Lviv Oblast Rada. In 1995, he was the chief editor for The Chas newspaper. Between 2000 and 2002, Chornovil was elected a deputy to the Lviv City Council. Since May 2002 Chornovil was part in the Our Ukraine fraction of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s parliament). In the course of the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, Chornovil moved between Our Ukraine to the Party of Regions which was a political oppositional party against Our Ukraine. On December 4, 2004, Taras is the president of the Viktor Yanukovych electoral committee in the second round of voting during the presidential election of 2004. At the time of 2006’s Ukrainian parliament elections, Chornovil was elected as an assistant to the Ukrainian parliament, as an MP from the Party of Regions (he was 3rd on their list of members). On the 28th of November, 2006 Chornovil was among the two Party of Regions MPs who supported the law that recognized Holodomor’s genocide as genocide.

Taras Vyacheslavovych Chornovil (Ukrainian: Taras V’iacheslavovich Chornovil born on June 1st 1964, in Lviv) is an Ukrainian politician. He was a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament).

Chornovil was a student at in the Faculty of Biology at the Lviv University. In 1981-82, he worked as an assistant in the laboratory in the Lviv Polytechnic Institute. Between 1982 and 1984, Chornovil served in the Soviet Army. From 1985 to 1985, he was a part of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, and one of the founding members of the Union of Independent Ukrainian Youth. In 1987, he served as an editor of”Ukrayinskyi Vistnyk” and “Ukrayinskyi Vistnyk” and the chief editor in”Moloda Ukrayina” and “Moloda Ukrayina” newspapers.

After the first round of the 2010 presidential election Chornovil called on Ukrainians to vote for Yulia Tymoshenko (with Viktor Yanukovych being the other candidate during that round).
