Stuart Brian Tinney, OAM (born 7 December 1964 in Mundubbera) is an Olympic- level equestrian athlete, who is a competitor for Australia. Tinney was awarded a gold medal for the team award at the 2000 Summer Olympics as well as winning a bronze medal for the team during the 2015 Summer Olympics and participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics.
After 12 years of a hiatus, Tinney made his Olympic return in the year 2016, when he took home the team bronze medal and was placed 22nd in the individual competition.
The year 2008 was the time that Tinney participated in Europe in an effort to be a selections in the Beijing Olympics however, she was unable to miss it onto the Australian team. The year 2009 was the time that Tinney took home the Olympic CCI level classification in the Australian International 3 day event alongside Vettori. He was also 7th in the event with Ari de Gwaihier. It is the Australian International 3 day event is one of the six CCI events in the world and is the only one that is located in the Southern Hemisphere.
