Marshall is well-known for his part in the Sydney metal group Dungeon together with whom he made three recordings and performed extensively across Australia, Europe and Japan between 2001 to 2005. After a long time in tribute and cover band, Marshall joined Dungeon as the replacement for Dale Corney in late 2001 and made his debut with the group during an regular Metal for the Brain festival. Although most of the band’s albums A Rise to Power had been recorded before when he joined, some tracks contain Marshall’s solos. Marshall also performed in the albums of studio members One Step Beyond and Resurrection and also on the live disc Under the Rising Sun that was recorded during the group’s 2003 tour through Japan. Marshall also sang backing vocals for The Lord Album A Personal Journey and he performed lead vocals on”Waiting for Alibi,” a Thin Lizzy cover “Waiting for an Alibi” which was included as a bonus track on The Australian edition of Resurrection.
The band in 2011 signed a contract for management in 2011 with Rock N Growl Records.
His most recent album together with Empires of Eden is entitled Reborn in the fire. The band secured three separate record contracts for a worldwide release the album came out in July 2010 to a worldwide applause from the critics. The album includes some of the most well-known metal artists such as Zak Stevens and Mike Vescera and Steve Grimmett.

In the latter half of 2005, Marshall formed Paindivision initially together with Dungeon’s Tim Yatras on drums but before the band’s debut live show, Paindivision’s name changed from 20 Grams. Then, shortly afterward, Dungeon disbanded. Marshall completed the 20 Grams lineup in the middle of 2006. The group toured with Black Label Society in Sydney just a few months later. Then, 20 Grams reverted to the name Pain Division and a four-track EP was released in late 2007. In the spring of 2007, Pain Division announced a partnership together with Wollongong record label Riot! The self-titled album debuted at the end of October. Dan Quinlan joined the band on bass guitar. He played with the band in Japan on their November tour. In November 2007, he released his own album, Altered States. The second Paindivision album came out in 2008 and a new album was scheduled to be recorded in 2010. However, the band is now off for some time while Marshall is focusing on Death Dealer, a power metal group featuring Ross as the boss.
Marshall has also crafted an album project of metal with a melodic sound under the title Empires of Eden with assistance from members of Transcending Mortality and Crimsonfire, and also featuring guest appearances by musicians from Lord, Dungeon, Vanishing Point, Cerberus and Argument Soul. Songs of War and Vengeance was released in Japan July 2009 via Rubicon Records.
