Seth Colton Doege (born December 18 1988) is an American football coach and former quarterback. He is currently employed as an analyst of offensive quality control at USC. After playing in the NCAA football tournament at Texas Tech University, he was hired to Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2013. On February 27 the 27th of February, 2014, he officially signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. Doege played for Texas Tech as the primary quarterback in between 2011 and 2012. He was the wide receivers coach at Bowling Green.

Doege completed his 2011 campaign with 398 completions of 581 for 28 touchdowns and 4,004 yards. He was ranked eighth of all NCAA FBS quarterbacks in passing yards.

The completion record was previously held by Kliff Kingsbury, another Texas Tech quarterback, who completed 49-of-59 for an 83% completion percentage. Doege also tied the school record set by Taylor Potts for consecutive pass completions by completing 15 in a row during the same game. For his performance at the New Mexico game, he was named co-Big 12 offensive player of the week and AT&T ESPN All-America Player of the Week.

In the final 2012 NCAA quarterback rankings, Doege finished third in passing yards with 4,205 and second in touchdown passes with 39, completing 380 of 541 passes (70.2%) on the season. With the conclusion of his college career, Doege ranks third in Texas Tech career history for passing yards (8,636), passing touchdowns (69), passing attempts (1187), and passing completions (819). Additionally, Doege became the second quarterback in Texas Tech history to pass for more than 4,000 yards in consecutive seasons, following former quarterback Graham Harrell.

Doege took up an athletic scholarship from Texas Tech as part of the class of 2008 recruits. He played the 2008 season as a redshirted athlete and did not see any action. He played in a limited capacity during the 2009 and the seasons of 2010, but did get a start with the Red Raiders in an October 31st victory against Kansas due to injuries to the quarterback Taylor Potts and backup Steven Sheffield. Doege finished 14 of his 28 passing for 159 yards, and one touchdown during his part in the Kansas game. Doege also completed an impressive 68 yards and one scoring touchdown during the fourth quarter in Tech’s 66-14 victory in the 2009 game against Kansas State in 2009.

Doege is born in San Angelo, Texas, to Randy Doege and Melinda Doege. He has a younger brother. Randy Doege coached at several high schools in West Texas before becoming the head coach at Crane High School in 2003. In his first season 2004 Seth Doege was the starting quarterback at Crane High School and led the Golden Cranes to the area round of playoffs but lost against the (Tuscola) Jim Ned Indians that were guided by the senior player Colt McCoy. The year 2005 was his second season at high school, Doege was the team’s quarterback, leading his Cranes to a record of 13-1 (9-1 regular season and three playoff victories) prior to the time that Crane was defeated by Childress in the Class 2A region I Championship game. After attending quarterback training camps in the summer prior to his senior season, Doege was recruited heavily by a variety of major universities including universities like the University of Florida, the University of Oklahoma, and Purdue University.

Doege moved from (Wolfforth) Frenship High School during his junior year of high school. However, during his August training sessions during his training, he tore his ACL in one knee and was forced to miss the entire 2006 season at Frenship High School. He tore his ACL on his other knee in July of 2007 and ended up and was unable to play in his final football season in high school. Despite the injury, Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach honored the school’s earlier invitation to a student scholarship and Doege accepted his letter of intent to sign with Red Raiders in February 2008.
