Steve McKinney is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on October 15, 1975 in Galveston, Texas, United States. Stephen Michael McKinney (born October 15th 1975) was a former offensive guard for the National Football League. He was selected to the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He played in the NCAA football tournament during his time at Texas A&M.

He quit the Colts as an unrestricted free agent in the 2002 NFL Season. He was the very first unrestricted free agent accepted with the Houston Texans. He played every single game at center and took over every offensive move. In 2003, he began every single game at center , for the 2nd time in a row. season. He also joined Chester Pitts as the only two Texans offensive linemen who started every game of the short history of the club. He was then the first to start all 32 games during the seasons of 2004 and 2005 with the Texans.

McKinney also operated Velocity Sports Performance training centers in the Houston area from 2004-2008. In 2007 McKinney began his own hunting and whitetail deer breeding operation called McKinney Whitetails, in Marquez, TX near his hometown of Centerville, TX.

On September 23, 2007, McKinney suffered a torn ACL in a loss to the Colts. He was placed on injured reserve, ending his season. He was released the following offseason.

In 2001 and 2000, McKinney began the game for a total of 30 in the Colts.

McKinney was selected during the 1998 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. The year 1998 saw him began every game at left guard. He was one of just four NFL rookie offensive linemen to begin each game with only a guard. It was his fourth time to ever in Colts history to win all-rookie honours and was part of the offensive line that was able to allow 22 sacks, the second-lowest number for the NFL. He began 14 games as a left guard but was unable to play the first play of his career as the team was not in Philadelphia. He was suspended for two additional games following having an appendectomy in the middle of the night.

McKinney was a minority owner of the Freebirds World Burrito chain from 2003-2007 before the company was sold to a larger conglomerate.
