It was 1995 when Vittoria was the producer, writer as well as directed Hollywood Boulevard which starred John C. McGinley, Jon Tenney, and Julianne Phillips. It was a dark and humorous look at the business of motion pictures.
In 2005, Vittoria produced, wrote, and directed the documentary feature film, One Bright Shining Moment: The Forgotten Summer of George McGovern, which won the Jury Prize for “Best Documentary Feature” at the 2005 Sarasota Film Festival and was released in theaters nationwide by First Run Features.
In 2006, Vittoria wrote, directed, and edited the television documentary Keeper of the Flame with journalist Linda Ellerbee and actor Wilford Brimley, examining the ecological crisis facing American forests.
It was in 1987 that Vittoria produced and wrote his debut feature, Lou, Pat & Joe D (later named Black & White), with Frank Vincent and Kim Delgado. The film is set within Newark, NJ after World War II The film examines the effects of racism by the bond of two boys in their early teens.

Vittoria was born within West Orange, New Jersey and was a student at West Orange Mountain High School. In 1973, while at the age of 16, a senior in high school, Vittoria applied to be a member of his position on the Board of Education of the West Orange Public Schools. Vittoria was seeking student representation on the school board , but was rejected for candidacy. Legal representation was provided by the American Civil Liberties Union, the case was referred before the Supreme Court of the United States which Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. decided against Vittoria as well as the ACLU.
Vittoria graduated from Rider University, Lawrenceville, NJ in 1979. Then he attended Columbia College, Los Angeles, California 1981, where the film course he took was a success.
In 1996, Vittoria founded Street Legal Cinema—a production company dedicated to documentary filmmaking, as well as Deep Image, a commercial production company. Both companies continue successfully today.
