His father was John Myler who played full back for Widnes Vikings RLFC. His grandfather was Tony Myler, a former Widnes captain as well as a GB International and one of the most talented footballers of his time. Stephen’s great-uncle was Frank Myler who captained the most recent British team to win an entire match in Australia in the year 1970.
Myler has signed with The Salford City Reds for 2006’s Super League XI.

Stephen Myler (born 21 July 1984) is an English player in the sport of rugby. He plays as a fly-half in the Premiership of London Irish in the Premiership.
Myler was a part of the Widnes Vikings in the 2003 Super League VIII. He played in 49 Super League appearances for the Vikings with 180 points.
He has established himself as a great kicker for the squad, scoring a high percentage of Place kicks for the 2008–09 season. It was during this season that Myler started in the final of the European Challenge Cup, scoring all of Saints’ points as they defeated Bourgoin.
