Steffen Sartor (nee Skel, born 14 June 1972 located in Bad Salzungen, Bezirk Suhl) is a German luger who played from 1992 until 2004. He was a specialist in doubles who formed a strong team with Steffen Woller in the 1990s and into 2000. He took home five medals in the FIL World Luge Championships, including the gold (Mixed team 2000) Three silvers (Men’s doubles: 2000; Mixed team: 2001 Mixed team 2001) as well as a bronze (Men’s doubles 1997).
After his retirement from competition and a move to luge, he was appointed a trainer for Canadian, German and Swiss Federations. In 2013, he was appointed coach of South Korea’s luge team. South Korean luge team on an agreement that runs until the year the year 2018.
Skel also took home 6 medals during the FIL European Luge Championships, winning 3 golds (Mixed team 2002, 2004 2006.) along with three golds (Men’s doubles 1998 2000 and 2000; Mixed team:).
