Through his professional career, Lindqvist played for Halmstad, Neuchatel Xamax, IFK Goteborg, Motherwell and Stromsgodset IF. He was part of Sweden’s national team. Sweden national team, scoring one goal.
He passed away on March 1 2020 following a more than 10 years-long fight with ALS.
Lindqvist has won five Allsvenskan titles while playing for IFK Goteborg, and played every minute of Goteborg’s 1994-1995 UEFA Champions League campaign which was a success. Goteborg beat their opponents in front of FC Barcelona, Manchester United as well as Galatasaray before being knocked out from the competition by Bayern Munchen in the quarter finals due to away goals.
