Stefan Batan is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on March 20, 1985 in Sodertalje, Sweden. Stefan Batan (born 20 March 1985) is an Swedish soccer player of ethnic Assyrian origin, who is a player for Assyriska FF as a defender.

In 2014’s Superettan Batan played in 27 league matches for Hammarby in the process of gaining the Allsvenskan title. In the following two seasons, at the Swedish first division, Batan was used more in a limited capacity as a starter. In December 2016, however, Batan renewed his commitment to the club, signing the club with a one-year deal. He was only in three league matches in 2017 and then left his club towards the conclusion of the season with the end on his agreement.

He was back in Assyriska in 2010 , where the club was a regular player for the club in the Swedish second-tier Superettan. In the next three seasons, He played 100 games with the team, and scored three occasions. The contract he signed expired following the 2013 season the club signed him to an agreement for three years in the form of Hammarby Fotboll, a fierce rival to the club he played for in his youth. Batan began his career at Assyriska Foreningen. He made his debut as a player in the first team squad of Superettan in 2003. Assyriska was promoted to Allsvenskan in 2004, and Batan made his Allsvenskan debut against Hammarby IF on 11 April 2005. After the 2005 seasonended, Batan was offered several contracts from several clubs, and was involved in a controversy following his departure from Assyriska. AIK had revealed to the journalists that Batan was signing for AIK, and claimed they had an oral contract but they were able to see them fooled when the club’s arch rivals Djurgardens IF only a few days after. Batan said that it was his childhood dream that he would play with Djurgarden however, those who supported AIK considered the “treachery” very hard to accept.

On the field, Batan had a tough task of becoming an everyday starting position for Djurgarden and was often as a substitute to the Djurgarden team. In the summer of 2008 Batan was placed on loan to Assyriska Foreningen due to lack of playing time. He was also loaned for Assyriska FF for the 2009 season. He was released from Djurgarden when his contract was due to expire after the 2009 season.

On 26 January 2018, Batan returned to Assyriska FF, now competing in Division 1, the Swedish third tier.
