In the months prior to his hire in Milwaukee, he was chief coach for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL in which he led his Nailers to a 49-35-0-5 mark during his time there. He was selected in the 11th round, at 214th overall, by Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. He played in 126 games of the National Hockey League, all playing for Tampa Bay Lightning. Following the end of his professional playing, Drulia has served as head coach for the Orlando Seals of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League and the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL as well as the Port Huron Icehawks of the International Hockey League. On July 1st the 1st of 2010, Drulia was appointed as head coach for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.
In the International Hockey League, Drulia was awarded the Turner Cup playing for the Atlanta Knights and was playoff MVP, winning the Norman R. “Bud” Poile Trophy in 1993-94. Drulia was awarded a second Turner Cup in 1996-97 with the Detroit Vipers. Drulia took home the Poile Trophy again in 1997-98 with the Detroit Vipers, even though the Vipers lost 7 matches to Chicago Wolves.
