To The River (2011) is a multi-screen installation that features 12 sound channels. Filmed in the spring equinox period of 2010, on the banks of the River Severn, To The River shows small groups of people waiting to see The Severn bore to flow. Filming was mostly done during the night. The video installation is comprised of three screens positioned at various locations in the gallery, two on separate walls and one that spanned an entire corner. Surround sound of the audio tracks played at various points on the ceiling. The audio was recorded as fragments of conversations among the people eagerly awaiting the rising of the river “a collection of very human stories that touch upon mistakes, failure, desire, loss, ambivalence and resentment… a prolonged encounter with the momentary reversal in the flow of things.”

Rickett has also made several books, most recently – “The Death of a Beautiful Subject”, GOST books 2015 , and “THE CURIOUS MOANING OF KENFIG BURROWS”, 2019.

Like her photography, her video works have a distinct conceptual aspect. The first film she made, Auditorium (2007), was a reaction to the design in the Glyndebourne Opera House. It explores the real-world nature in an environment, which is used in order to make illusions. Over 70 hours taken over the course of 10 days were trimmed into a film of 20 minutes featuring a score composed from British composer Ed Hughes. Nicolass Till, who writes frequently about opera, claims that the stage is “a space of revelation that at the same time implies a concealed other.”
