Solveig Gulbrandsen is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on January 12, 1981 in Oslo, Norway. Solveig Ingersdatter Gulbrandsen (born 12 January 1981) is a Norwegian footballer who is currently working for Kolbotn in the Toppserien. At club level, she played for Kolbotn, FC Gold Pride, Valerenga Fotball Damer and Stabaek. In Norway, the Norwegian National team Gulbrandsen has won 183 caps. She also scored 55 goals, and also won at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

On the 9th of June, 2008, she was selected to the Norwegian team to participate in the 2008 Summer Olympics that was held in Beijing, China. Norway made it to the quarter-finals which they lost to Brazil. Gulbrandsen was injured in his wrist in the first half of the match but continued to play and realized the bone was broken.

Gulbrandsen was selected for Norway’s team in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2009 played in Finland. The team survived the group stage to beat Sweden 3-1 in the quarter-final, losing to Germany 3-1 in the semifinal. At the end of the tournament she announced it would be her last championship but she would continue playing to the end of the season at least. In October 2009 she announced that she had decided with her family to continue playing for another season.

On 10 December 2009 FC Gold Pride in Santa Clara, California, playing in the WPS league, announced that Gulbrandsen had signed a contract to play and to take part in coaching and education, starting in March 2010. However, on 7 July 2010, FC Gold Pride announced that Gulbrandsen would be returning to Norway and Stabæk FK, effective after the club’s 17 July match against Philadelphia. Gulbrandsen cited a desire to begin a transition to a post- soccer career in Norway for her decision.

Gulbrandsen participated of her participation in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2007 tournament in China Her third participation in the event, in which Norway was ranked fourth in the standings behind Germany, Brazil and the USA. Her team Kolbotn was named Norway’s Norwegian Cup holders after winning the Cup Final in November 2007.
