Soema Montenegro (born 7 December 1978 in LaFerrere, Buenos Aires) is a Argentine musician and singer. In 2001, she was a part of Piel del Sur, a group led by Susy Shock. In 2002, together with Maisa, Pereira and Hari M. She formed the trio of vocal improvisation Adivina. The group was the basis of research and experimentation as well as the venue in which it grew as a an improviser and singer for five years, in addition to its formal composition studies at The Conservatory Alberto Ginastera. In 2008, as the sole vocalist she released her debut album Uno Uno Uno (Noseso Recordings).

In 2014 she released her third record Ave del Cielo, which will be released in the months of September and October during the months of September-October in Buenos Aires. As part of her new group El Conjuro she gave concerts and held seminars in various cities throughout the country. The album was also recorded with Juan Ignacio Serrano and Jorge Sottile. In 2015 she will release her third album, Ave del Cielo, in the format of a quintet. In July of 2015, she toured for the 3rd European tour, performing at major music festivals across the globe, like Pirineos Sur, Spain and Festival Musicas do Mundo, Portugal. It’s part of the Se Trata de Nosotras initiative of the National Council for Culture and the Committee against Trafficking in Persons and shares the stage with famous musicians and singers from the present scene, such like Liliana Herrero Roxana Carabajal Luciana Jury Miss Bolivia, among others. Soema was asked to perform as part of the Cycle and the movement Playing for Change Argentina. The year 2016 is the year Soema takes part in her participation in the Michelberger Music Festival in Berlin which is a festival that is unique of its kind. There are the artists of 80 from different regions of the world come together to perform works that are not published as part of a joint collaboration.

In 2012, she performed in the Argentine section of the Late Night Argentina in Brisbane Festival, Australia, next to 34 Punaladas and Franco Luciani. In November she gave her debut performances in Chile where she performed in concert alongside Pascuala Ilabaca. In 2013, she performed at The La Casita Out Door Festival in Lincoln Center New York, USA. She performed the second European tour in 2013, accompanied from Festival Voix de Femmes, Belgium she recorded a folk-oriented album together with the Mosaik music study group, in Warsaw, Poland. The record was released by the group in Bilbao in Spain and Morocco.
