John Kellman of the All About Jazz magazine praised the appearance of Sinikka’s Langeland Ensemble on Vossajazz March 2013 as No. 2 of his “Best Live Shows of 2013”.
Langeland is a Finnish national Instrument the kantele. She is also famous as a “runesanger” and traditional “kveding”. Langeland also provides instruction on these instruments as well as techniques for singing. The piece “Sammas Himmelsoyle” by langeland was premiered by Trio Mediaeval and Sinikka Langelands Ensemble Finnskogutstillingen in March 2012. This work is based on Finnish mythology, and was commissioned for Finnskogutstillingen. In the week following the premiere the piece was performed again during “Gamle Aker kirke”, during the Oslo International Church Music Festival.

Along with Ove Berg, she was awarded an award from the Finnish-Norwegian Cultural Fund 2004 and in 2010 , she was awarded the Gammleng prize in the course Traditional traditional folk songs. In 2012 she was awarded the Sibeliusprisen from the Sibelius the company in Norway.
