Zadek’s initial interests were his early interests in alternative, utopian, as well as Buddhist economics. He became fascinated by the movement for corporate social responsibility and in particular the advancement of techniques for social auditing during his time at the New Economics Foundation (1992-1999) as the chief executive officer and founder of AccountAbility (1995-2009). In the last few years, he worked to promote responsible and green policies in the financial as well as the insurance and investment industries. He has created social and environmental risk policies for corporate and banking clients as well as banks and believes that insurance companies need be able to document their climate risk exposure and strategies to mitigate them.
