Sifan Hassan is one of the most popular and richest Runner who was born on January 1, 1993 in Adama, Ethiopia. Sifan Hassan (Oromo: Siifan Hassan born on January 1, 1993) is an Ethiopian-born Dutch long- and middle-distance athlete. She was awarded two medals of gold at the World Championships, in the 1500 metres and 10,000 meters events. She is the only female or male athlete (male as well as female) to have won both events at the same World Championships or Olympic Games.

Hassan had her breakthrough moment in 2013’s season. She ran an 800m time at 2:00.86 minutes to win the KBC Night of Athletics and won the 1500m during the Nijmegen Global Athletics and Golden Spike Ostrava events. In 2013, on the IAAF Diamond League circuit she was second in the 1500 m race at Athletissima with an individual record of 4:03.73 minutes. She was also third in the DN Galan 3000 m with an average of 8:32.53 minutes. This time was ranked as the fourth fastest athlete in the world in that year.

From late 2016 until October 2019, Sifan Hassan was coached by Alberto Salazar, the Nike Oregon Project coach. However, Alberto Salazar is currently serving a four-year ban for doping violations, leaving Hassan without any coach.

Hassan was the 2016 1500m indoor World champion. At the 2015 Beijing World Championships she won a bronze medal in the 1500m and a bronze medal in the 5000m at the 2017 London edition. In February 2019 Hassan set the world record for a 5 km road race and in July 2019 she broke the women’s mile world record.

She obtained Dutch nationality in the month of November of 2013 and in the next month, she made her debut in her new country. In the 2013, European Cross Country Championships she took home an award for gold in the category of under-23 and also helped propel the Dutch team climb to third place in the ranking. She also took home both the Warandeloop as well as the Lotto Cross Cup Brussels races in the winter of 2013. In the first week of 2014, she set a world-leading speed in the time of 8:45.32 minutes in the 3000m at the Weltklasse in Karlsruhe and then beat the Dutch record for the indoor 1500 m race with an impressive time in 4:05.34 seconds at the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix.
