Shjon Walter Podein (born on March 5 1968) is an American professional left winger in ice hockey who played for 11 years in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues.

On the 12th of November on 1998 on the 12th of November 1998, the Flyers made a trade of Podein for the Colorado Avalanche for Keith Jones. In addition to helping Colorado to win their first Stanley Cup in the 2000-01 season, Shjon also scored a career-high 15 goals , and also matched his previous highest points total of 32. Shjon is most often remembered for his uniform worn for a whole 25 hours following winning game 7 in the Stanley Cup final.

The Avalanche traded Podein to the St. Louis Blues for Mike Keane on February 11, 2002. Shjon played his last NHL season in 2002–03. He then played in Sweden with Växjö Lakers Hockey and finished his career in Japan with the HC Nikko Icebucks.

Podein completed his studies at John Marshall High School in 1986. He then played in the collegiate league with the University Minnesota-Duluth, in the WCHA. Following his freshman year The Edmonton Oilers drafted him 166th in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.

Podein was a professional for the first time during the 1990-91 season of the Cape Breton Oilers of the AHL. It was his NHL debut during the 1992-93 season of the Oilers but was later transferred back the following season to Cape Breton, where he was awarded the Calder Cup. The following season, Podein had a limited amount of time at the parent club, and was released as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers on July 27 in 1994.
