Then, she was awarded the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim five times and broke the record for the world in 1995 by the 48-kilometer distance in five hours 45 minutes and 25 seconds. She also took home three times the Australian Marathon Swimming Championships three times and has won 7 successive FINA Marathon World Cups. She took home an gold medal in the first open water event in 1991 at the World Aquatics Championships in Perth and a bronze medal in the 1994 Championships in Rome.
