Shebani Mandhakinibhaskar (October 7 1994) is an American female cricketer from Indian origin, and was the former Captain of the United States women’s national cricket team. Bhaskar is a wicket-keeper , and performs the role of a part-time bowler for the domestic cricket.

In August of 2019 she was substituted by Sindhu Sriharsha as leader of the country’s team during the 2019 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier and was included in the American team of this year’s ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament in Scotland. She was a part of the United States’ opening match of the tournament, which took place on the 31st of August, 2019 in a match against Scotland.

While she was exposed to the cricket at the national level in India however, she wasn’t chosen to be part of in the Indian team. Bhaskar got the chance to represent the United States cricket team at the 2011 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

Bhaskar is a native of Evergreen Park, Illinois, United States to an Indian family. As a child her family relocated frequently and has resided at home in Hamburg, Dhaka, and Alexandria, Virginia. Bhaskar together with her family relocated from Virginia to Kolkata in 2007 when her father Bhaskar Rajah, began work in Kolkata as a city worker. Bhaskar was later selected to join Kolkata’s West Bengali U16 cricket team at the age of 11 years old. In 2008 her family and she returned to Chennai the city they grew up in.

In a match that was in the World Cup Qualifiers, she was able to assist to assist the US cricket team score the win against Zimbabwe by scoring 72 runs in 89 balls, and was awarded as the Player of The Match.

In March 2018, Bhaskar was named captain of the U.S. women’s national cricket team. In March 2019, she was named as the captain of the United States team for the 2019 ICC Women’s Qualifier Americas tournament against Canada. She made her WT20I debut for the United States against Canada in the Americas Qualifier on 17 May 2019.
