On the 25th of September, 2014, he signed a contract with League One rivals Scunthorpe United for a loan of one month; “Irons” manager Russ Wilcox stated that he was astonished to get his top goal and also that Brisley will replace injured Miguel Llera. This loan deal was renewed to 3 January. The player played seven games while on loan at Glanford Park, though featured just three times following Mark Robins succeeded Wilcox as manager. He also played 16 games for Peterborough in the 2014-15 season.
On 4 July 2016, Brisley signed a two-year deal with Carlisle United. He said that manager Keith Curle’s ‘sales pitch’ convinced him to join the “Cumbrians” and that he aimed to help the team gain promotion out of League Two. He made 34 appearances in the 2016–17 campaign, though agreed to a mutual termination of his contract after Curle told him he could not guarantee him game-time at Brunton Park next season.

The 20th February of 2012 was the day that Brisley joined Championship club Peterborough United on an emergency loan with the hope of an eventual permanent deal later during the summer. Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson said that he initially tried signing Brisley three years ago however, a then-teenager Brisley felt homesick and decided to return to his home club. Brisley made his debut with”Posh “Posh” on 10 March with a 3-1 victory against Blackpool on London Road. The loan contract was signed on May 8 with “a fee in the region of PS300,000”. He played in 31 games in the 2012-13 season when United were dropped to League One. He played 32 games in the 2013-14 season, and on the 30th of March, the striker scored an “powerful headed goal” in the Football League Trophy final as Peterborough took home the trophy in the victory of 3-1 against Chesterfield in Wembley Stadium. He was also dismissed twice in the course of the season, during league defeats against Walsall as well as Bradford City.

Brisley was born in Macclesfield and was a student at local school Ivy Bank Primary school and Henbury High School. At the age of 13, Brisley joined Macclesfield Town’s Macclesfield Town youth-team. He made his debut as a professional with”the “Silkmen” on 1 March 2008, when they played an 1-1 draw against Notts County at Moss Rose it was Keith Alexander’s first match as manager. The striker scored the first of his goal for his club during a 1-1 victory at home against Accrington Stanley in the 29th March. The 2007-08 season ended with the equivalent of ten League Two appearances to his name. He then established himself as a Macclesfield defender playing 43 times during the 2008-09 season. - He went on to make 142 appearances in league and cup competitions in less than four years. The club he joined was Peterborough United on an initial loan agreement beginning in the month of February, 2012 and was extended after three months. He was awarded the Football League Trophy with the club in 2014, and made the score in the last. He was loaned at Scunthorpe United, Northampton Town and Leyton Orient, before he joined Carlisle United on a free transfer in July. He was transferred to Notts County 12 months later however was let go after the club’s removal from the English Football League at the close of the 2018-19 season. He joined Port Vale in August 2019.
In June 2015, it was reported that he had been transfer-listed by new manager Dave Robertson. On 11 September, he joined League Two side Northampton Town on a one-month loan deal. He admitted the loan move came as a surprise to him but was hopeful of getting game time at Sixfields. The loan was later extended into a second month, however was then cut short after he sustained medial ligament damage in his knee on 24 October and was sidelined for eight weeks; “Cobblers” manager Chris Wilder said that the news was “disappointing because he’s been superb for us”. On 27 January, he returned to League Two on loan with Leyton Orient until the end of the 2015–16 season. He was named on the Football League team of the week after scoring the only goal of the game at Notts County on 20 February. He featured 16 times for the “O’s”, scoring one goal, and said he would be interested in a permanent move to Brisbane Road.
