Shamil Adzynba (Abkhazian: Shamil’ Adzynba , Georgian: shamil az’inba born 21 May, 1970) is the present First Vice-Premier of Abkhazia in the government of President Khajimba and is a two-time acting Premier.
Adzynba was appointed as acting Premier on the 26th of July 2016 following Mikvabia’s resignation. On the 15th of August, Adzynba gave an interview with Sputnik Abkhazia in which he announced that he’d applied to resign due to a variety of appointments he had made recently were in direct violation of the Law on Language which required the use of Abkhaz by officials of the government. The resignation of Adzynba was accepted in the evening by the President Khajimba.
When President Khajimba fired the Prime Minister Butba on March 16th, 2015, he named Adzynba as acting prime minister. On March 20, Khajimba appointed MP Artur Mikvabia as Butba’s permanent replacement.

A presidential election was initially planned for 2014; however Abkhazia’s Constitution of Abkhazia required an election to be scheduled within three months of the sudden death of the incumbent President Sergei Bagapsh on 29 May 2011. Three candidates took part including the Vice President who is stepping down and acting Presidency Alexander Ankvab, outgoing Prime Minister Sergei Shamba and opposition leader Raul Khajimba. Shamil Adzynba was selected by Shamba to be his Vice-Presidential candidate. The pair was chosen in an initiative on the 8th of July and then applied for registration on the 16th of July. Candidates who had passed their Abkhaz test on 20 July 2011. were officially approved with the Central Election Commission on 25 July, and were awarded their certificates on the 26th of July.
Adzynba was named as First Vice President by Khajimba on the 15th of October, 2014.
