Sergey Yevgenyevich Naryshkin (Russian: Sergei Evgen’evich Naaryshkin (IPA: [sjI’gjej jI’vgjI”na’riskjIn”] born on the 27th of October, 1954) is a Russian official politician, businessman and politician, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service since 2016. In the past, he served as Chairman the State Duma (2011 – 2016) as well as Kremlin Chief of Staff (2008-2012) and was chairman of the Historical Truth Commission in May 2009, until its dissolution on February 12, 2012.

From 1992 to 1995, from 1992 until 1995, he was a member of from 1992 until 1995 in the Committee for Economy and Finance of Saint Petersburg Mayor Office. Following his departure in 1995, he was appointed the head of the department for external investments of Promstroybank, a post he held until 1997.

From 1998 until 2004, he was the Chairman of the Committee for External Economic and International Relations of the government of Leningrad Oblast.

Since September 13, 2004, he has been a Minister, Chief of Staff of the Government of Russia.

In 1982, he was appointed the Deputy Vice-Rector at Leningrad Polytechnical Institute.

Sergei Ivanovich Naryshkin was born in Leningrad and graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Mechanics with an engineering degree in 1978. In the late 1990s, he completed his studies at the International Management Institute of Saint Petersburg with the degree of economics.
