Sean O'Sullivan is one of the most popular and richest Rugby League who was born on January 1, 1952 in Hamilton, Canada. Born at the age of 52 at Hamilton, Ontario, O’Sullivan was interested in politics from a young age. At 11 years old, he was working on behalf of Ellen Fairclough in her election campaign and got to meet John Diefenbaker for the first time. He attended Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School as well as Brock University in St. Catharines. When he was only fifteen years old, he became selected as the Western Ontario representative of the Youth for Diefenbaker movement. The movement was founded in Ottawa to rally support of the young conservatives of Canada for John Diefenbaker at the leadership convention. The year was 1970 and at 18, he was selected as the president of the Young Progressive Conservatives of Canada.

O’Sullivan discovered that his leukemia was a problem in the year 1983. Following treatment, the leukemia was cured and he was able to resume his job. In the Brock University convocation ceremony in 1985, Father O’Sullivan was conferred an honorary degree. He gave the commencement address. He was awarded the honorary degree in 1986. was named an Officer of the Order of Canada. Following the return from illness, O’Sullivan went to Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto to undergo a bone marrow transplant. He passed away in March, 1989 at the age of 37.

In 1977, O’Sullivan stunned many observers of politics by announcing that he would be leaving politics to become a Roman Catholic priesthood, eventually becoming the Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of Toronto, as also the the publisher the newspaper The Catholic Register newspaper.

Later, during the 1972 election, O’Sullivan, who was 20 years old at the time O’Sullivan was elected as the Progressive Conservative MP for the Hamilton-Wentworth region, and became one of the youngest members in Hamilton-Wentworth’s House of Commons of Canada ever (in 1974, Liberal Claude-Andre Lachance became the youngest ever MP in the House of Commons, and New Democrat Pierre-Luc Dusseault beat the record in the year 2011). He quickly rose up in the ranks of his party, and was considered as a possible cabinet leader or even minister. He was re-elected in 1974. O’Sullivan’s private members’ bill from 1975 that earned him recognition in Canada for the symbol of the bear as its official national animal.
