On June 8, 2008 Ramsay quit Eastbourne Borough after he failed to sign an extension of his contract. He then signed with Hastings United, who “beat off competition from several higher league sides” like that of AFC Wimbledon and Havant & Waterlooville to sign the prolific striker. While at Hastings the player was promoted to an important defensive role, stepping away in place of his traditional position as striker.
The year 2003 was the time that Brentford was the subject of interest to sign Scott for PS25,000 following the scoring of 33 goals during 2003/2002 season. Ramsay participated in 2 training classes with the Bees however, Scott was hesitant to take on the deal.

Scott started his career with Brighton & Hove Albion in 1999. He scored two goals in his 35 games twelve of which were first-team starts. Scott was on loan for three months during a time in Yeovil Town in 2001 scoring four goals in just 17 games. It was followed by a second loan stint in Bognor Regis. After failing to make the initial team, Scott was dismissed by Micky Adams for an infraction to the terms of his contract back in. After his departure from Brighton and Hove Albion he joined Dover Athletic on a free transfer
Over the course of six years in the club’s history at Eastbourne Borough, Scott bagged 135 goals in 283 games and also helped the sussex team take home the Sussex Senior Cup in 2002 and advance to the FA Cup first round in 2006 for the first time in their history. He also assisted in their climb to the Conference South football league and was part of the team that earned an upgrade to the Conference National league.
In 2010, Ramsay moved to Rye United and played at the club until 2012.
