Scott Goldblatt is one of the most popular and richest Swimmer who was born on July 12, 1979 in Summit, New Jersey, United States. Scott Daniel Goldblatt (born July 12th 1979) is an American former competitive swimmer and an Olympic gold medalist who was a specialist in freestyle swimming.

The fall of 2001 Goldblatt was informed that he had nerve damaged in his left forearm, which would require surgery. Goldblatt returned to the pool in the last week of December and was required to master swimming with his left arm. In the National Championships in March he placed third on the 200-meter Freestyle and also took home the first National Championship in the 400-meter Freestyle.

In the summer of 2002 he graduated from the University of Texas at the same time he was qualifying for the World Championship Team set to compete in 2003. At the same meet, he just missed qualifying for the Pan Pacific Championships to be held that August. At the World Championships Goldblatt won a Silver medal as a part of the 4×200 Freestyle Relay, and finished the year ranked eighth in world in the 200-meter Freestyle.

He moved to Kansas City in early 2003. He finished sixth in the 200 Freestyle, earning him a spot on the 4×200 Freestyle Relay team at the Olympic Games in Athens. Here he swam in the preliminaries of the 4×200 Freestyle Relay, and he eventually won the Olympic Gold Medal as a member of that team.

In the NCAA Championships in 2000, He was part of Texas’s NCAA winning relay team for the second consecutive year. He also helped in leading Texas to become NCAA Champions while being named All-America in four events.

Growing up at Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Goldblatt first began swimming in the pool for children at the local swim club Willow Grove Swim Club located in Scotch Plains. He then joined the YMCA in Scotch Plains/Fanwood, until when he became a part of the Berkeley Aquatic Club under head coach Jim Wood. In 1995 at the age 15 he was able to compete in his very first championships at national level. He was awarded Rookie in the Meet. In 1997, he made it in the World Top 50 rankings after placing 46th in the 200-meter Freestyle. Goldblatt was also named as a member of the World University Games team, where he was awarded the gold and silver medal. Goldblatt completed his studies in the year 1997 at Scotch Plains-Fanwood School.

In July 2000, he was selected to join in the United States Olympic Team. At Sydney, Goldblatt finished ninth in the 200-meter Freestyle and was awarded the Silver medal as a participant of the team 4×200 Freestyle Relay. After not being recognized international for over two years for the 200-meter Freestyle, Goldblatt was now placed ninth in the world. He also was the sixth-fastest American ever to compete in the 200-meter Freestyle.

After returning to Texas, he helped lead the team to another NCAA championship and won a fourth straight relay title while breaking the American Record in the 4×200 Freestyle Relay. Goldblatt then qualified for the 2001 World Championships where he won a Bronze Medal, and finished the year ranked 11th in the 200 Freestyle.
