Sarah Marie Vaillancourt (born May 8 in 1985) is an Canadian female hockey player. She is a player on the Canada women’s national team, and is a part of the Montreal Stars (CWHL).
In the 2010-11 season, Vaillancourt was a part of in the Montreal Stars midway through the season. He immediately became the fan’s favorite. He was able to make it into the top 10 league’s highest scorers, scoring the impressive score of 28,067 points (11 goals and 17 assists) in just 15 games. In the final match of 2011’s Clarkson Cup, Vaillancourt scored an assist in the third quarter. After having won the Clarkson Cup, Vaillancourt became an informally a participant in the Triple Gold Club (the accomplishment by women has not been recognized as such from the IIHF) She became the only women who have won the Clarkson Cup, a gold medal at the Winter Olympics, and a gold medal at the IIHF World Women’s Championships. Other women included Caroline Ouellette, Jenny Potter and Kim St-Pierre. A hip surgery in her left kept her out of the game during the 2011-12 season.

From 2003 to 2009 Vaillancourt played 88 international games for Team Canada and scored 36 goals adding 39 assists. She won 2 Olympic Gold medals for Canada, in 2006 and 2010. While playing for Harvard University she was named the Ivy League and ECAC Hockey Player of the Year. She led Harvard in scoring, and was ranked fourth overall in the NCAA in 2007–08. In 2008, she won the coveted Patty Kazmaier Award.
She was a major player on The Harvard Crimson women’s ice hockey team and won the Patty Kazmaier Award in the year 2008. Her freshman year was 2004-2005, and she was fifth in the United States and was first among freshmen, scoring with 2.31 points per game.

In 2005 she was selected to an appearance on the Canadian female hockey national team. she was to participate in the 2005 Women’s World Ice Hockey Championships in Sweden. In her debut game she was the leader of Canada by scoring 6 points in a victory of 13-0 against Kazakhstan. Kazakhstani national women’s hockey team. Vaillancourt was Canadian captain for the under-22 squad at 2007. She was captain of Canada’s under-22 team at the Air Canada Cup. She served as the leader of Team Quebec in the Canada Winter Games that won the silver medal. One of her teammates was the future Olympian Catherine Ward. She graduated High School as tri-varsity Captain as well as an student athlete at Pomfret School situated in Pomfret, Connecticut, as part of the class of 2004.
Vaillancourt started skating at the age of two years and a half and playing hockey at five years. She made the national team when she was 18 and one of her favourite hockey moments is winning gold on home soil at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games. She studied psychology at Harvard University and works as a skills coach. Vaillancourt is openly lesbian.
