Her debut was on her Canada women’s national team in the 4 Nations Cup, being held between November 4 and 8 at Sundsvall, Sweden. Together along with sibling Amy Potomak, they are the first duo of sisters selected to the Canadian national women’s hockey team. They were teammates in a two-game game with the United States national women’s ice hockey team in December of 2016.
Potomak was a debutant with her team, the Minnesota Golden Gophers in a game on the 25th of September, 2015 in an practice match in which they played the Minnesota Whitecaps logging two assists on goals scored by Hannah Brandt as the squad triumphed 5-4.
Along with fellow British Columbia resident Micah Hart, Potomak was invited to participate in the IIHF’s 2013 Women’s High Performance Camp in Sheffield, England. Potomak and Hart were also members of Team BC that competed at the 2012 and 2013 Canadian Women’s U18 National Hockey Championships.
Her debut in the regular season was on the 1st of October of 2015 with an 2-0 victory against Penn State. Potomak made an unmarked net score for her debut goal in the start of her NCAA career. In a double-game sweep of St. Cloud State on October 9-10 in 2015. Potomak had four points and two goals. In the second match against St. Cloud she recorded her first time she scored more than one goal in the NCAA career.
