Sangre Azteca (Spanish for “Aztec Blood”) (born on October 5th 1975) is an Mexican wrestler who is a luchador-enmascarado, also known as professional wrestler who is recognized for her work with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Sangre Azteca’s real name has been not disclosed to the public like is the case for wrestlers who are masked in Mexico who’s personal lives remain secret from public. On the 25th of December in 2015, in the course of the CMLL’s annual Infierno en el Ring show Sangre Azteca was one of 12 men who risked their masks in the main event’s in the cage game made of steel. He was the 8th man to leave the cage protecting his mask during the process.
On August 12, 2019 through its social networks, Azteca announced his departure from CMLL after 21 years, declaring himself an independent luchador.
In the Mexican National Welterweight Championship defense against Dragon Rojo Jr., they went to a double countout which caused Sangre Azteca to state that Rojo impressed him with his abilities. They soon began working together alongside Black Warrior to form the group Poder Mexica (Spanish for “Mexican Power”). The group’s first Mexican National Trios title match was a success, as they beat El Sagrado, La Sombra as well as Volador Jr. on the first attempt. Black Warrior was later suspended and Misterioso Jr. filled in his place at various shows and was an ineligible part of Poder Mexica at the time. Sangre Azteca, Dragon Rojo Jr. along with Misterioso Jr. were unsuccessful in their attempt to take the CMLL World Trios Championship from Hector Garza, El Hijo del Fantasma as well as La Mascara, but at the 2009 Homenaje a Dos Leyendas they were able to defeat the trio in a non-title game. Sangre Azteca Dragon Rojo Jr. and Black Warrior experienced their first title defense that was successful in the face of Mascara Dorada El Sagrado, and Valiente. In the mid-year period, Valiente scoured Sangre Azteca to get an opportunity to defend his title at the Mexican National Welterweight Championship, however, Sangre Azteca was unable to accept. When they finally met, with the title on the line, Valiente beat Sangre Azteca to end his 33-month reign with his Mexican National Welterweight Championship. At the 76th anniversary Show, Sangre Azteca teamed with Dragon Rojo Jr. and Misterioso Jr. in defeat against the three comprising El Sagrado, Hijo del Fantasma as well as Mascara Dorada. He confirmed that Misterioso Jr. is an Official part of Poder Mexica after the event. Black Warrior left Poder Mexica later in the year following not collaborating with other members in the summer of 2009. On the 19th of December in 2009 it was revealed through the Comision de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F. the fact that Poder Mexica had been stripped of the Mexican National Trios title because Black Warrior had left CMLL and the team was disbanded. They also announced an eight-team tournament to determine the new trio champion. Poder Mexica (Azteca, Rojo Jr. and Misterioso Jr.) defeated Fabian El Gitano Maximoand Rouge and finally Delta, Leono and Valiente to advance to the final. On the 6th of January 2010 Mascara Dorada, Stuka Jr., and Metro beat Poder Mexica to be their winners of the Mexican National Trios Champions.

After being trained by Scorpio as well as Raul Reyes He made his debut at 21 years old and won his first match. EMLL (now CMLL) found an attraction to the wrestler and subsequently signed him out of International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG). Then, he joined of a group called “Grupo Cibernetico” of young wrestlers who train under the direction of the head instructors Guillermo “Memo” Diaz and Negro Casas, that taught the youngsters both amateur and pro style wrestling. On the 16th of July 1999, 1999, he joined forces with Fugaz to beat Ricky Marvin and Sombra de Plata in the Lightning Match that stole the show. The four young men received a standing ovation from the crowd. The success of the match was so huge that all four wrestlers competed at the 66th anniversary of CMLL’s performance on Saturday, September 24th. However, during this huge event, the rudo squad lost. Sangre Azteca made his Japanese debut on November 23rd of 1999. He fell against Ricky Marvin, who was also making his debut, at a CMLL Japan performance. The rivalry is still ongoing as of February 17, 2000. Sangre Azteca wrestled Ricky Marvin in a three-flip match, which Marvin was victorious. The year of his rookie increased dramatically after Sangre Azteca took home an Luchas de Apuestas (bet match) beating Pegaso II with the mask on July 3rd in 2000. In 2002, he took home his first Distrito Federal Tag Team Championship together with Ramstein (Fugaz wearing a new name and mask). The title was lost the following year in 2004, losing in the hands of Los Rayos Tapatio.
In 1999, 2001 2003 2004 in 2005 and 1999, Sangre Azteca participated in the Gran Alternativa, but failed to get beyond the qualifying round each time. In the end the team remained with CMLL and eventually took home the Mexican National Trios Championship with Doctor X and Nitro in early 2005. The team consisted consisting of Los Guerreros del Infierno defeating Safari and El Felino as well as Volador Jr. Seven months later, they lost their title in the hands of Maximo, El Texano Jr. and El Sagrado but failed to regain it two times. In the middle of 2005, he appeared on the 72nd anniversary of CMLL where he was in a team along with Apolo Dantes, and Mascara Magica to lose the show to El Felino, Heavy Metal as well as Ultimo Dragon. His first title in singles came from that of the Mexican National Welterweight Championship, which he took by beating La Mascara in 2006. In February of 2007, Sangre Azteca participated in the Reyes del Aire tournament and was eliminated by Volador Jr. when they were the only two competitors in the rings. In the Homenaje a Dos Leyendas show, Sangre Azteca teamed with allies Los Guerreros del Infierno (Atlantis and Olimpico) to take on Los Perros del Mal of Mr. Aguila, Damian 666 and Halloween. In the latter part of 2007 Sangre Azteca teamed with Ephesto and Toscano to take on Alex Koslov, El Sagrado as well as La Sombra at the 74th anniversary show, but they fell. In the event Homenaje a Dos Leyendas of 2008, Sangre Azteca teamed with Los Guerreros del Infierno of Olimpico and Rey Bucanero defeat Grey Shadow, La Sombra as well as El Sagrado.
