Due to injuries, Schuening was forced to change from offensive guard to tackle during the 2007 season. His senior year was his best. He was first team All- Pac-10. He set an Oregon State football record when he started his 50th consecutive game in the Emerald Bowl against Maryland on December 28, 2007. He played a key role in leading the Beavers to victory against the Terapins, 21-14.
