Roy Nissany (Hebrew rvy nysny – born 30 November 1994) and a French-Israeli racing driver currently competing in 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship alongside Trident Racing. He is also a Formula 1 development driver for Williams Grand Prix Engineering. He is the son Chanoch Nissany, a former racing driver.

Nissany’s first encounter with a Formula One vehicle was 16 October 2014. He tested the Sauber C31 at Circuito Ricardo Tormo. He participated in post- season testing at Yas Marina Circuit in December 2019. Williams announced on 15 January 2020 that Nissany had been appointed their official test driver for 2020. He will be participating in Friday practice sessions at the Grands Prix and a rookie testing day.

In 2018, Nissany competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Campos Vexatec Racing. After the tenth round in Monza, Nissany had scored only a single point, a 10th-place finish at the feature race at Spa-Francorchamps. In contrast, teammate Luca Ghiotto had collected 94 points including four podium finishes. Nissany was then replaced by Roberto Merhi for the remaining two rounds of the season. Nissany suffered a training injury at the beginning of 2019 and did not compete in racing during the year. In 2020 he will return to Formula 2 to race for Trident Racing alongside Marino Sato.

Nissany was promoted to the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in 2013 with Mucke Motorsport. He scored 11 points, including two 8th-place finishes. The championship ended in 22nd place. In 2014, he competed again, finishing 17th with 26 points. His best result was 6th at the Nurburgring.

At six years old, Nissany started karting. He drove for the Hungarian G-Kart Racing Team in 2004, and was fourth in the FIA Central European Zone Trophy. In the Hungarian Karting Championship, he was fifth. In 2007, Nissany raced for the Italian Morsicani Racing Team in the Italian Open Masters, and the 13th Winter Cup at Lonato del Garda. He raced in the Gandolfi Racing team the next year and finished 2nd in Pomposa’s Mille Dollari race.

He had a more successful year with Lotus in 2016, finishing 4th in the championship with 189 points, three wins and three pole positions. Nissany then moved to RP Motorsport for 2017, enjoying another successful season with 201 points, one win and 5th place in the championship.
