Ross Alan Richard Frank Fitzsimons, born 28 May 1994, is an English professional footballer. He plays as a goalkeeper at Notts County’s National League side. He spent time at Crystal Palace, Bolton Wanderers and Braintree Town. He also spent time at Chelmsford City, Notts County and on loan at Harrow Borough and Farnborough.

He joined National League club Braintree Town as a temporary replacement for suspended Jamie Butler on 16 August 2016. Later that day, he made his debut for the “Iron”, in a 2-1 loss at Maidstone United. On 25 August, he joined Chelmsford City. Rod Stringer, his manager, released Joe Welch (goalkeeper) and Colan Balkwell (goalkeeper), in the week that followed Fitzsimons’s arrival. He kept a clean sheet in Chelmsford’s 1-0 win over East Thurrock United on 28 March 2017. The “Clarets” made 40 league appearances, helping them to reach the play-offs. They lost 2-1 to Ebbsfleet at Stonebridge Road.

On 27 July 2017, Fitzsimons signed with Notts County following a trial period. Manager Kevin Nolan said that he expected Fitzsimons to challenge Adam Collin for a first team place. Fitzsimons stated that he was looking forwards to working with goalkeeping coach Mark Crossley, who he said “has a very effective way of coaching”. He made his debut on 8 August, in a 3–3 draw with Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park in the first round of the EFL Cup; County lost the resulting penalty shoot-out 6–5.

On 16 January 2020, Fitzsimons joined Chesterfield on loan for the remainder or the 2019–20 season. He was recalled by Notts County on 24 January following an injury to Sam Slocombe.

Fitzsimons signed a 2-year contract with Championship club Bolton Wanderers on 1 July 2014. He joined National League South club Bishop’s Stortford with a one month loan on 16 December 2015. He made eight appearances for “Blues” after the loan was extended to a second month. In May 2016, he was released by the “Trotters”.

He joined Conference South club Havant & Waterlooville in September 2013 on a one month loan to cover Scott Bevan’s injuries. The following day, he made his debut with the “Hawks” in a 2-1 victory over Farnborough at West Leigh Park.
