Ream graduated from college and returned to Washington to join the American Conservative Union. He then opened the campaign operations for Phil Crane for President in 1978. Ream left to become the director of seminars at Foundation for Economic Education, Irvington (N.Y.). Ream returned to Washington in 1982 and joined the staff at Rep. Ron Paul (Tex), where he dealt with tax policy issues as well as budget policy. Ream was instrumental in the founding and serving as vice president for economic development at Citizens for a Sound Economy (an economic policy organization based in Washington, D.C.).

Roger R. Ream was born November 12, 1954 in Neenah (Wisconsin), United States. He is currently the president of The Fund for American Studies. TFAS’s mission is to “change the world through the development of leaders for a free country.”
Ream was a Vanderbilt student and received a Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship that allowed him to study at Georgetown University’s The Fund for American Studies Institute on Political and Economic Systems in Washington, D.C., during the summer 1976. Ream was awarded the John and Virginia Engalitcheff Outstanding young American award at the program. He interned at Congressman Philip M. Crane (R.Ill) during the summer.
Ream was a founding member of the Frank S. Meyer Society and currently serves as its secretary. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Economic Education. He is also a board member of the U.S. Air Force Academy Foundation, and the International Freedom Educational Foundation. He is a past president of the Philadelphia Society and a member of the advisory boards of America’s Future Foundation and Talent Market.
