Rodrigo Canosa Martinez, a Uruguayan footballer, was born September 18, 1988. He plays as a central defensive defender for Lautaro de Buin in the Segunda Division de Chile. He has previously played for El Tanque Sisley and Cerrito as well as Rampla Juniors and Villa Teresa.

In June 2015, he signed for America de Cali in Colombian Primera B. He stated that he wanted to contribute his excellent aerial play, ability organize a defense, and leadership skills to a team eager for promotion. He was a regular starter and helped America qualify for the promotion stage. However, they finished second in their group, so Canosa was released. He went to Manta in Ecuador where he joined the Serie A club Delfin. When a major earthquake hit the area in April 2016, he had already played seven league matches. The earthquake left more than 200 people dead and many homeless in the city. He was traumatized by the experience and worried about his baby and wife. The club agreed to cancel his contract immediately so he could go home.

Canosa was reunited with Cerro in August 2014. Although he was not able to play in the first half, he did well in the second and avoided relegation.

Canosa was born at San Jacinto in the Canelones Department. He was a football player for El Tanque Sisley in Montevideo, and made his Segunda Division debut at the end of 2008. He then moved to Cerrito for the 2009-10 season, having been promoted to the Primera Division. In his first season, Cerrito were relegated. He quickly established himself and helped the team make a quick return to the top. He was still present until the end in 2011 Apertura.

Before the 2012 Clausura, Canosa signed for Primera Club Rampla Juniors. Their relegation was confirmed by Penarol’s 7-1 loss at home. Canosa went to Argentina on loan to join Olimpo De Bahia Blanca for the season. He was unable to force his way into a well-populated defense so the loan was cancelled and Canosa went back to Rampla Juniors in time for the 2013 Clausura. For the remainder of 2013, he played for Rampla Juniors, before completing the season with Villa Teresa in Segunda Division.

When the transfer window opened, Canosa rejoined Cerro. He remained with the club until the end of the 2017 Apertura and played once in the Torneo Intermedio before moving abroad again, this time to Curicó Unido of the Chilean Primera División. He was not a regular in the team, and in January 2018 signed for Primera B club Santiago Morning.
