Rockin' Rebel Biography

Rockin' Rebel is one of the most popular and richest American professional wrestler who was born on January 13, 1966 in Montgomery, Alabama, United States. Charles Williams, born January 13, 1966, and died June 1, 2018, was an American professional wrestler. He is better known as Rockin’ Rebel. His appearances on the U.S. Independent Circuit with promotions such as Eastern Championship Wrestling and Combat Zone Wrestling. Atomic Championship Wrestling. Classic Championship Wrestling. 1CW (Delaware). Valour Pro Wrestling were his most prominent.

Rockin’ Rebel appeared with Pro-Pain Pro Wrestling several times between 2003 and 2005. Later, he wrestled for many independent federations. His last match was against Q.T Marshall on May 10, 2014. In 2012, he was inducted into both the DWF & IWPF halls, as well as the ACW, MWF and 1CW halls of fame.

Williams died at home in West Chester in the early hours of June 1, 2018. On June 2, the West Goshen Township Police Department said it appeared he shot and killed his wife before shooting himself.

After leaving ECW in 1995, Rockin’ Rebel entered the independent circuit. After leaving ECW in 1995, Rockin’ Rebel was briefly involved with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and he fought many dark matches for the World Wrestling Federation. Before returning to the U.S., he had enjoyed successful tours of Japan and Korea. Rebel and Glen Osbourne, an ECW alum, formed the tag team Darkside in the mid-1990s. They won five Maryland-based Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation tag teams titles, two Virginia-based International Pro Wrestling Association tags team titles, and regularly appeared for the NWA. Rockin’ Rebel made his debut in Combat Zone Wrestling on July 25, 2000. He joined Lobo’s Army and remained with the stable until Lobo retired. With Derrick Frazier and Doomsday Danny Rose, he formed Rebel’s Army. He was also a former Tough Enough contestant Greg Matthews. Rebel and Matthews continued their partnership in promotions on the independent circuit, such as PWF and 3PW and PWU and World-1.

Williams was a professional wrestler in The Rock ‘n Roll Express (Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson), and made his debut as Rockin’ Rebel in December 1988.

Rockin’ Rebel signed in 1990 with Tri-State Wrestling Alliance, Philadelphia. Rebel was the first Tri-State Champion while on tour with the TWA and enjoyed memorable feuds and fights with D.C. Drake, C.N., and The Sandman. Redd. Redd teamed up with Jimmy Jannetty and formed The Confederacy. They were top contenders for the tag team titles, and fought with teams like The Super Destroyers or The Blackharts. The TWA was a huge success but it abruptly ceased operations in 1991. After being renamed Eastern Championship Wrestling, Rebel was able to return to the promotion in 1993.

On June 21, 2018, Kyros Law announced that Williams’ family decided to donate his brain for CTE research.
