Bouchard scored his 683rd goal in his career on March 21st, 2010 while playing for the Muskegon Lumberjacks. With 5:50 remaining on the first period, Todd Robinson, a teammate, scored the goal. This was Bouchard’s 56th goal for the season. Bouchard thanked his teammates, fans and Frank Anzalone, the opposing coach (who was Bouchard’s first coach in Roanoke, but traded him to Columbus one month into his rookie season).

In January, 2014, during the 50th Jonquiere Pee-Wee Tournament, Bouchard was honoured at a rink in his hometown with a permanent display of his accomplishments. A banner bearing Bouchard’s name and jersey, #32, was raised to the rafters at the Foyer de Loisirs et de la Culture in Saguenay, Quebec.

Bouchard signed with The Flint Generals of Colonial Hockey League. Bouchard led the team’s scoring with 56 goals, 107 points and took the Generals to their 1996 Colonial Cup Finals victory over the Thunder Bay Senators. Bouchard would return to the Generals for a second season before being briefly recalled to the IHL’s Fort Wayne Komets.

Robin Bouchard, a Canadian professional ice hockey player, was born October 22, 1973. He played 16 seasons of minor league hockey. He holds the modern-era record for minor league goal scoring, scoring 687 goals in 16 seasons of playing in the ECHL and CoHL, United Hockey Leagues, CHL, CHL, and modern-day IHL.

Bouchard began his career under Frank Anzalone, Roanoke Express head coach. The Express was chosen by Bouchard “because their owners were French- Canadian.” Bouchard scored his goal after a defenseman’s slap shot went wide. Bouchard was able to get the puck onto his stick, and he smashed the puck into the net. After only scoring one goal in ten games, coach Anzalone became convinced that Bouchard, even though he was a junior goal scorer, wasn’t able to score in professional leagues. Anzalone sold Bouchard and center Andrew Dickson, to the Columbus Chill in exchange for future considerations. Bouchard responded by scoring thirty goals in forty six games.

Despite playing the majority of his 13 seasons in Muskegon, Bouchard remembers driving into the city to report, viewing the run-down buildings and thinking “Woah, I’ll finish this year and I want to get out of here.” With the exception of two stops in Texas, where he played in San Angelo and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, Bouchard remained in Muskegon until his retirement in 2010.
