Rob Speak, born 14 March 1972, is a race driver from Tyldesley in Greater Manchester. He’s one the most successful drivers of BriSCA Formula2 Stock Cars history. He has won the National Points Championship 11 times and the World Championship 8 times (7 in a row). He has also won the BriSCA Formula1 Stock Cars World Championship, National Points Championship and the European Championship twice. He became the Skegness Stadium’s new promoter and owner in September 2016.
He began to pursue a career as a BriSCA Formula 1 Stock car driver in 1999 after becoming disillusioned by BriSCA Form 2 Stock Cars. He finished the National Points Championship 24th with 247 points after only 11 races. Rob quit BriSCAF2 in the following year and began racing full-time in BriSCAF1. The season’s highlight was the Northampton victory in the European Championship using a Frankie Wainman Junior-built Tarmac car. The engine suffered damage at Coventry, which was the beginning of the 2001 season. He finished in seventh and fourth places respectively, but he won the first meeting final at Skegness Stadium on 12 August. He was able to keep his place in the top three for National Points thanks to consistent results. He won the September World Championship and successfully defended his European Championship title in July. Rob debuted a space-frame tarmac vehicle in 2002. The meeting final was won by Rob at Barford for the first time, but it would be the last time the car had won a meeting final. Rob was back in his old car by June. 2002 would be his first year without a major BriSCA F1 championship. However, he was second in the British Championship as well as the World Championship. He was also punctured while leading the European Championship. After a dispute with another driver, Rob decided to quit BriSCA F1 at season’s end.
During the 2001 season, Rob debuted in the new ASCAR series racing at Rockingham Motor Speedway with 2 races for the Colin Blower team, in the second race he finished in 4th place a season’s best result for the team.
In 2002, Rob raced in a National Hot Rod, driving Dick Hillard’s spare Peugeot 205, finishing tenth and eleventh in heats but not completing the final due to a 15-car pile up.
Rob was 16 years old when he moved to BriSCA Formula 2 Stock Cars. He became the sport’s number one driver, setting records that will never be broken. In his best season, he won 147 races. He became the first driver to win all of his heats, finals and Grand National races at Cowdenbeath. At just 17 years old, he was the youngest National Points Champion in his first full BriSCA F2 Season. He went on to defend his title ten more times. He also won eight World Championship titles during this period.

2012 saw a second return to competition, this time to BriSCA F1 Stock Cars. Initially a one-off to race for charity, Speak did enough to qualify for that year’s World Championship. The following year saw him primarily a single- surface competitor on tarmac, in 2014 Speak raced both surfaces and won the National Points Championship. In 2015, he won the World Championship a second time, becoming the driver with the longest gap between World Final wins.
