Rickard Rydell, born 22 September 1967, is a retired Swedish racing driver. He was a winner of the 1998 British Touring Car Championship and the 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. He also won the European/World Touring Car Championship.
After five years at Volvo, he was loaned by Ford (Prodrive) 2000. He will finish third in the seventh year behind Anthony Reid and Alain Menu.
He moved to SEAT’s SEAT Sport team in 2004 for the ETCC driving Seat Toledo Cupra ending 10th with 1 victory and 1 podium. In 2004 he also took part in two races in the Swedish Touring Car Championship, claiming one victory.
In a 2005 poll run by Motorsport Magazine, Rydell was voted 18th greatest touring car driver of all time.

Rydell was born at Vallentuna in Stockholm. Rydell was originally trained as an accountant at AB Rydell’s family flower boutique, but he soon fell in love with racing. He raced in several Formula Three series during the 1990s. He won the 1992 race and was also in pole position at the Macau Grand Prix. He raced in Japanese F3 and British F3 in 1992, 1993, 1989, 1991 and 1987, as well as the Swedish F3 series in 1987, 1988, and 1987. He raced in F3000 in 1990. He won the Swedish 100cc go-kart championship in 1984-1985.

- He won 13 of the 24 races but, due to slow starts, he lost 4 times and finished 7th. He finished third in the championship at the end of 1996, the same result he achieved in 1996. Although Audi was the dominant team with Frank Biela, Rydell was able to score 6 podiums and 4 victories. He was fourth in 1997 Volvo’s switch from the 850 saloon model to the new Volvo S40. He won the 1998 BTCC title with five victories and 12 podiums in a Volvo, beating Anthony Reid at their final meeting. He was also the winner of the 1998 Super Touring Bathurst 1000 in a Volvo S40 along with Jim Richards. He was third behind the two Nissan Primeras with four victories and seven podium finishes in 1999.
He spent 2001 largely waiting for his ETCC Volvo S60 to be built, but he raced a Ferrari 550 Maranello in the FIA GT Championship for the Prodrive team. In 2002 he raced in the ETCC finishing 5th with 8 podium while in 2003, without official Volvo’s support, he finished just 11th with only 2 podiums.
