Richard Stromback, born January 29, 1969, is an American ex-professional hockey player (OHL and ECHL), venture capitalist, and entrepreneur. He founded Web Group in 1997, which was a search and technology company. He served as its President and CEO until 2003. Web Group was ranked 189th in Inc. Magazine’s annual list the 500 fastest growing companies. He began to invest in clean technology and acquired Ecology Coatings, a research company.

Stromback was a professional hockey player from 1986 to 1990. He suffered a blowout fracture in his left orbit while fighting. He played for the Ontario Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League, and the Belleville Bulls, Cornwall Royals. The Erie Panthers and Johnstown Chiefs were his teammates during those years.

In 2006, Stromback was the recipient of the Technology Pioneer Award for his work with Ecology Coatings.
